York County Food Rescue

York County Food Rescue closed its doors in 2016. Until that time, they rescued salvaged edible and safe food that would typically be otherwise discarded due to cosmetic reasons and/or excess inventory. Volunteers would pick up food at nearby restaurants, grocery stores, wholesalers, farms and shipping companies and then deliver it to 47 local food pantries, soup kitchens and meal programs. York County Food Rescue helped to reduce waste and feed hungry people in need.
