PAWS

The mission of the Paws Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is to spay/neuter as many cats as possible to reduce the large population of unwanted cats in the St. John Valley area through spay/neuter of owned cats (who often are allowed to roam) and homeless cats.

This is truly a grassroots organization. It started early in 2008 when two women who worked at the University of Maine in Fort Kent decided to help a few homeless kittens and has evolved into a group that has had a significant impact in Fort Kent and surrounding communities.
